This Thankful Chalk Sign is a fun way to engage the whole family in being more thankful. With the chalkboard surface it’s easy to write and erase as frequently as you want! This is a simple project to make, we’ll walk you through the whole thing step by step.
What’s in your kit:
- ‘Thankful’ Print
- Chalk vinyl
- Black paint
- Brush
- Glue
- Chalk
- Wood Block*
*If you ordered a kit without wood, you will need a block that is 8 inches by 9 inches. We used a 2×8, and cut a piece 9 inches in length. Most hardware stores will even cut wood for you.
How to make it
Step 1- Paint:
Start by painting the sides and back of the wood black. You will need to paint just inside the front edges as well in case the print isn’t an exact fit.
Step 2- Glue:
Once the paint is dry, it’s time to place the print. Paint a layer of glue on the entire front of the block, making sure to get all the way to the edges.
Place the print on the block and use a something to smooth out any bubbles- a vinyl press, credit card, or popsicle stick all work well. Flip the block over to let the glue dry for a few minutes.
Step 3- Chalk vinyl:
Peel and backing away from the chalk vinyl and place on the sign.
That’s all! This block is ready to fill with things to be thankful for.
