Hey friends! We are thrilled you got these cute snowmen to make! They are pretty irresistible. A perfect little project for a cold winter day. They are crazy easy too! Let’s start with the smaller block snowman.
What’s in your kit:
- block snowman, wood hat brim, and nose
- black paint
- white paint
- brushes
- small gems for eyes and mouth
- orange glitter paper
- fabric for hat
- wood glue
You will also need:
- pencil
- scissors
- painter’s tape (optional)
Start by tracing the nose onto the glitter paper. Cut out and set aside. Next paint the block 3/4 of the way up. The top 1/4 will be black.
Also paint the edges of the nose white.
Next, paint the top 1/4 of the block black. Feel free to use painters tape here if you’d like. The wood brim and the fabric will cover the lines in the end, but it never hurts to use tape.
We used a little tape on the sides of our snowman.
Paint the hat brim black as well. You will want to paint the sides, the front and even most of the back since it overhangs on the sides a bit.
Once all the paint is dry, it’s time to glue! Glue the glitter paper to the wood nose, set aside to dry. Glue on the hat brim right over your black/white line.
Add the jewels for the eyes and mouth. We found the jewels work best if you cut them apart first, then attach to the snowman. Glue the nose in place.
Last, tie the fabric around the hat and you’re done!
Now let’s talk about the big snowman!
What’s in your kit:
- wood snowman, nose, and wood buttons
- paint
- brush
- orange glitter paper
- jewels for eyes
- fabric for scarf
- wood glue
You will also need:
- pencil
- scissors
This is made the same way as the block snowman, minus the black hat.
Trace the nose onto the glitter paper, cut and set aside.
Paint the entire snowman white, and the sides of the nose.
Once the paint is dry, add the jewel eyes. Glue the paper to the nose and glue the nose to the snowman.
You can use the wood buttons included in your kit, just paint them black; or you can use real buttons if you’d like. We used 1 inch black buttons. Use the wood glue to attach the buttons.
Last, tie the fabric scarf around his neck and he’s done! We cut the ends of the fabric into little strips (as you can see in the picture below) to resemble a real scarf.
Cute!!
