Hi friends! We’re so excited about this Sleigh Ride craft! This whole scene just makes me so happy-the big snowy trees, the sleigh with buffalo checks and that little tiny wreath! It’s just brimming with Christmas wonder.
Let’s get started with the How to!
Your kit includes everything you need except scissors and a sanding block.
Start by painting the large tree and the mini wreath green.
Paint the small tree and the block Light Ivory.
Next paint the sleigh red. Use the picture below as a guide for painting the sleigh runners black. Paper will cover the front of the sleigh down to where the runners start.
Use wood glue to attach the paper. Paint the wood first, then place the paper and smooth out any bubbles. Now let’s place the vinyl on the block. Peel away the back of the vinyl, leaving words on the sticky piece. Place it on the block, press really well using a vinyl tool or credit card, then peel away the sticky sheet.
Now for the snow! This stuff is so fun! And don’t worry, it’s super easy to work with. Just use a paint brush or popsicle stick to scoop some out. Then plop it anywhere you’d like and pull/lift away to get that fluffy look. Play with it until you’re happy! If you don’t love how it’s looking, it wipes right off and you can try again. It takes about 24 hours to dry completely, so be careful with your trees until the snow is totally dry.
Use a sewing pin to add little red berries to the mini wreath, then tie a piece of ribbon/baker’s twine around the wreath.
Glut the mini wreath onto the sleigh. Sand the edges of the sleigh to sand away any excess paper and to give it a seamless look. You can also sand the edges of the trees if you’d like.
All done! It’s a winter wonderland scene that is just perfect!
