Happy Fall friends! We’re so happy you got this cute Pumpkin Spice block and mini pumpkins kit. It’s just so perfect for Fall! This is a super easy project and you have everything you need in your kit except a little sand paper or sanding block. Let’s get started on the tutorial!
Here’s all the supplies you should have in your kit:
You also have one piece of Fall plaid paper and a piece of this pretty leaf paper as well as the custom designed Pumpkin Spice print.
Start by painting the sides, back and about 1/4 inch of the front of the block, the large pumpkin and the large pumpkin bead board overlay.
This picture is the front of the pumpkin and block so you can see about how much to paint on the fronts. Then paint the remaining items light ivory-the finial (the little peg that goes in the top hole), the candle cup (base piece), the small pumpkin, and the small pumpkin bead board overlay.
Now trace the pumpkins on the paper and cut out.
Paint the front of each pumpkin with wood glue, making sure to get all the way the edges.
Place the paper over the glue and press down from the middle out. Lay the pumpkin face down as it dries.
Now you can use a sanding block or some sand paper to sand away any excess paper around the edges. You can also sand the edges of the bead board overlay.
This BEFORE sanding the edges and then AFTER sanding the edges. It really creates a seamless look.
Now glue the print onto the front of the block the same way as we glued the paper onto the pumpkins. Make sure to glue the print on the block with the hole in the block UP! Then glue all the pieces together. The candle cup onto the bottom of the block, and each of the bead board overlays onto the pumpkins.
