Hi! We hope you are having a great summer so far! This Patriotic Jeep is so cute for summer time decorating! That mini flag pick?! Adorable. This is a fun one to make too, we’re so happy you have the kit! Crafting is so easy with everything you need in a bag and ready to go right?! Making it easy and fun is our #1 goal, so we sure hope you find this craft (and all our crafts) easy and fun.
Let’s get started!
You may want to grab some painters tape and a small paint brush to help out with the painting, but your kit has everything else you need to complete the Jeep.
How to make it:
Start with the white paint. Paint the windshield, the rims, and the block white.
Now black paint; paint the roll bar, the seat, and the tires. A small brush can be super helpful getting inside of the roll bar. This is where the tape comes in handy, you can tape off the windshield, to keep from getting black paint on the white paint. We painted in between the seats black, as well as the entire underside of the Jeep. Again, tape comes in handy moving to the red paint. Tape off all the painted areas for easy clean lines. As you can see in the picture below, we did not bother taping off the tires since they’ll be almost completely covered by the tire overlays.
So, paint the Jeep body red, as well as the Jeep overlay.
Once all the pieces are dry, sand the edges of anything you’d like. We just sanded the red parts of the Jeep.
Now it’s time to glue this baby together! Line up the tires first and glue in place. There are two skinny tires and one bigger tire. The bigger tire is the spare and goes on the back of the Jeep. Glue the rims to the tires as well. Then glue the red overlay. Your kit should include 3 miniature paper circles for the hubs, but the circles are tiny so just in case you lose one (or 3), simply use a good old hole punch and some black card stock to make them. Use a small dab of glue to get them on the rims.
You may want to prop up the Jeep while the glue dries on the back spare tire.
Now, let’s get the vinyl on the block. Peel the white back off the vinyl and you’ll be left with a sticker like strip.
Place the vinyl on the block and use a credit card or vinyl presser to press it down good. Then peel away the clear transfer tape, leaving the vinyl words on the block. Now just put the mini flag pick in the pre drilled hole, set the Jeep on the block, and ta-da! So cute!
