We’re so happy you got this cute Joy to the World letter craft! We love the rustic charm of this project. It’s simple to put together too, you’ll have it done in no time! Let’s get started!
What’s in your kit:
- Wood letters
- Small wood block
- Rusty bell
- Paint
- Gel stain
- Brushes
- Ribbon
- Wood glue
- Snowflake paper
- ‘to the world’ vinyl
You will also need:
- Sanding block or sand paper
- Vinyl presser or credit card
- Scissors
- Pencils
- Hot glue gun
STEP 1- Stain and Paint:
Start by staining the sides and back of the letter J and Y. The front will be covered with paper.
Paint the entire small block ivory.
STEP 2-Paper:
Once the stain is dry, trace the letters onto the paper. Be sure to trace them face down, both the paper and the letter.
Use wood glue to attach the paper to the letters. Paint glue onto the wood then place the paper and press.
*Optional* Use a sanding block or sand paper to sand the edges of the letters. Be sure to sand downward on the paper, any overhang will sand away giving it a seamless look.
STEP 3-Vinyl:
The vinyl goes on the short side of the ivory block, as shown in the picture below.
Peel away the white backing and place the clear piece onto the wood block. Press with a vinyl presser if you have one, or just a credit card works well too. Then peel away the clear transfer tape leaving the words behind.
STEP 4- Ribbon and bell:
The last step is to tie a bow around the ring on top of the bell. Use hot glue to attach the bell to the ivory block.
That’s it! Ready to help you deck the halls!
