There’s nothing like a cozy mug of hot cocoa on a cold day, and we are having lots of cold days around here. We thought a cute Hot Cocoa sign would be perfect for this time of year. This sign is great for everyday display, for a hot cocoa bar, or for any winter get together. As usual, this craft is quick and easy to make!
What’s in your kit:
- Wood block*
- Stain
- Foam brush
- Hot cocoa vinyl
*If you ordered a kit without wood, you will need a wood block that is 7 inches x 9 inches.
With only 2 steps, you’ll have this project done in no time!
Step 1- Stain:
Start by staining the wood. We recommend staining the sides first so you can rotate the block as you go, then lay it flat to stain the front. Once the front is dry, turn over and stain the back.
Step 2- Vinyl:
Once the stain is dry, all that’s left to do is apply the vinyl. Peel the clear transfer tape away from the backing.
Place the transfer tape on the block and press well using a vinyl squeegee (a credit card works well too.) Then carefully peel away the clear transfer tape leaving the words on the block. We have found peeling at a steep angle works best.
That’s all there is to it! We told you it was quick and easy! If you’re new to vinyl and need a little more instruction click HERE for a more detailed tutorial on how to apply vinyl.
We hope you’ll enjoy many cups of cocoa this winter and enjoy having this sign cozy up your home a little.
