Hi there! Spring is in full bloom and summer is headed our way quick, but before it hits we wanted to share this cute Spring craft with you. This hello Spring block has been one of our most popular craft party projects lately! Possibly because it’s really easy, it’s versatile, and of course, it’s super cute. (To learn more about our home craft parties and kits click HERE.) Once you have the supplies gathered up, this is as easy as crafting gets. Of course, it can be made any size and any color you want, but we’ll show you how to make it just like ours and you take it from there. 🙂 Of course, if you purchased a kit from us you will have all the supplies (except the vinyl squeegee) provided in your kit.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- One 2×6 board cut 19 inches long
- Paint
- Foam paint brush
- ‘Hello Spring’ vinyl and transfer tape
- Vinyl squeegee (helpful, but not necessary)
How to make it:
STEP 1- Paint
Paint the entire board and let dry.
Step 2- Vinyl
We used the Silhouette Cameo to design and cut our vinyl. (Just a helpful tip, because of how long this vinyl needed to be, we used the 12 x 24 inch cutting mat.) If you have a Silhouette and need a little help cutting the vinyl check out this tutorial: How to cut vinyl.
Once your vinyl is cut and weeded, and transfer tape is applied, you’re ready to go! If you have a kit purchased from us, you will skip this whole step and have vinyl ready to use.
Simply peel the white backing away from the words. The words will come up with the transfer tape.
Use a vinyl squeegee (or a credit card if you don’t have a squeegee) to press the vinyl down.
Now peel away the clear transfer tape leaving the vinyl on the block! Click HERE for more about applying vinyl.
Sand all the edges of the block if you would like.
It’s been a perfect addition to my Spring mantle!
Thanks for crafting with us!
