If you are looking for a quick, simple, inexpensive gift for neighbors, co-workers, or teachers - you have found it! These simple gift blocks are perfect for all those smaller gifts we need at Christmas time. They’re great on their own or in addition to something else.
Our designs are in groups of 3 - 2 trio’s are Christmas designs, 1 trio is for teachers, and 1 trio is for everyday home. That’s 9 designs in all to choose from! These are digital downloads available in our shop.

Because these are digital downloads, you can download the designs you want and print as many as you need! The downloads are sized as a 4 x 6 print. Each 4 x 6 print has two of the same design on it, so two 3 x 4 designs on one 4 x 6 print. That means you can send them to your local photo print shop and have them printed as photos. We have found this to be the least expensive and highest quality way to print them. You get two prints for the price of one! Make sure you choose MATTE finish too.
Here’s what you’ll need to make the blocks:
- 3 in. x 4 in. wood blocks
- Custom Prints HERE)
- Wood glue
- Paint
- Foam brush
We got our 3 x 4 blocks from the Wood Connection as well as the wood glue and paint. Click HERE to check them out.
Depending on the prints you choose, you will need either red, white, or seafoam paint.
The Merry and Bright kit blocks are red.
The Cozy Christmas kit blocks are painted white.
The Everyday Home blocks are painted Seafoam.
The Teacher blocks are also painted white.
Now let’s get started with the tutorial.
Start by painting the blocks. Paint all the sides first, that way you can hold it and rotate as you make your way around the block. Then paint just about 1/4 inch around the front edges. (The print will cover it.)
Paint the back of the block too.
After the paint has dried, paint a layer of wood glue over the entire front. Be sure to get all the way to the edges.
Now place the print over the glue and press from the middle out making sure there are no air bubbles. Set the block face down as it dries for a bit.
Once they are dry, you can sand around all edges if you’d like.
Now they are ready to be bagged and tagged! This means you’re that much closer to being ready for Christmas!
Happy gift giving!

Hi Camilla!
When you download the prints there are two of same design on one 4×6 print. So each 4×6 has two 3×4 designs. I hope that answers your question!
I am confused..the blocks aren’t 4 x 6 like the prints? Love the idea….I think I am making them in October for xmas
