Hello friends! I am so excited about this post! I have put a couple teases out there on social media about my camp trailer make-over (HERE and HERE) and today is the day you get to see the whole thing! First, I must tell you, this was not an effort to turn our camper into a ‘glamper.’ Although camping in a nice trailer is pretty ‘glampy, ‘ I still needed it to be totally functional, and durable. We pull this trailer into the mountains and get it dirty. Sticky marshmallow hands come in and out. We make hot chocolate, eat chips, and play games. I didn’t want to make it so nice and cute that I would stress about using it. I wanted it to look like a trailer still, but without the touristy- bad-shirt- tropical leaf fabric. And so, this is my super practical camp trailer make-over!

We had a tent trailer previous to this, but were ready for a little more space as our girls are getting bigger and there are 6 of us. We have loved it! It has bunk beds in the back so each kid has their own bed without any need for dissembling and reassembling for sleep. It is dreamy. My husband added a solar panel to the roof that keeps our battery charged constantly. Um, solar power is awesome! It’s no wonder we are seeing more and more solar panels on homes and businesses.
Here’s the bunk beds. This is exactly how it came when we bought it. The lady included the cute red bedding which partly helped inspire the whole color scheme I chose. The girls each have a sleeping bag under the duvet, and they are so cozy and warm. I can’t even tell you how amazing it is that all four girls have their own bed!
Okay, so we left the bunk zone AS-IS. Here’s a few pictures of what the rest of the trailer looked like when we bought it.
The “master bedroom” which is on the opposite end from the bunk beds. The only thing I changed was the fabric-anything covered with that typical floral, leafy trailer fabric. Although this fabric really isn’t all that bad compared to others I’ve seen. Still, I wanted to make this our own, and a place I really love to be. If I left it AS-IS, the chance of me obsessing over how I wanted to change it the whole time we were in it is like 100%.
So today is all about BEFORE and AFTER pictures. Here is the dining benches and window.
And the whole thing. I’m not a big fan of mini blinds or box valances. I wanted to be able to open the windows and let lots of light in. Curtains were the best solution.
Now the master bedroom. I made the denim quilt a few years ago and of course it needed a place in our trailer! I love denim quilts and have grand plans to make one for each of the girls too.
This is the curtains that go into the master bedroom.
I didn’t get a good before picture of the kitchen side, but the window had an upholstered valance and mini blinds just like the other windows. It came with white cabinets-Yahoo! It’s one of the few models out there that comes with white cabinets. Another HUGE bonus to me!
Last, some shots of the details. I found these cute party cup party lights at the Dollar Store and hung a couple strands using Command hooks. I love them!I put together a few cute wood crafts from the Wood Connection and picked up the adorable white lantern from Target. The pillows are also from Target.
There you have it. This is where we have spent many weekends this summer and plan to spend many more. I am in love with how it all came together, which is a relief because there were plenty of times I was kicking myself for messing with an already good thing-haha!
I live for our weekends away! The mountains, hikes, waterfalls, Jeep rides, camp fires, games, kick ball, and just being unplugged for a few days at a time. We laugh and play together and oh how I love it!
Linking up to some of these parties:
Thank you so much Pamela!
Thank you Kaitlyn! It really was a fun project!
Thanks so much Janet!
Thank you Amanda! Yes, I’m working on putting together more info on how I re-covered the furniture. 🙂
Thanks so much Emily!
I love how this turned out. I want to do this so bad!! Thanks for sharing at the Monday Funday Party. - Emily
This is AMAZING! I love it! My Mom and Sister each have a camper so I tag along quite a bit. I REALLY wish my Mom’s had bunk beds like yours. Like you mentioned, it is a pain to fold up the beds every morning.
Would love more info on how you re-covered the furniture!
Hi Melanie, What a great make-over and in patriotic colors too! Well done! Hope you have many happy times in your camper! Blessings, Janet
This the cutest thing ever! I have trailer here in Utah if you ever need a project ? This makes me want to do mine.
How fun your trailer looks! We have a trailer too and I would love to do something like this! Thanks for the inspiration!
