Steffany and I met the ladies from Doll Stuff by Jana a couple months ago. They sent us home with this little doll bed kit and pattern to try out. As you may know, I have 4 girls so a doll bed is right at home around here. We put this thing together in a couple afternoons and look how cute it is!
Yes, this little bed is made out of PVC pipe. When you buy a pattern from Doll Stuff by Jana you get full step by step instructions with an exact cut list to make the furniture. You only need a couple tools, like a PVC pipe cutter and measuring tape. In addition to the PVC instructions, you get easy to follow patterns for all the bedding including the headboard, foot board, pillows, and even a bed skirt. We skipped the bed skirt on our bed, but loved the headboard and foot board. Steffany and I were very hesitant to even try the patterns, but they seriously were so easy to follow.
The bed mattress is just a standard sized pillow-so easy! For our bedding, we used some tea towels from IKEA. They are the perfect size, not to mention sweet and girly. For our headboard and foot board, we used drop cloth fabric left over from our drop cloth curtains HERE.
All the Doll Stuff by Jana furniture is sized perfectly for 18 inch dolls or smaller, so it’s a much less expensive way to get those American Girl dolls all set up. Or in our case, stuffed animals. My girls always play with their stuffed animals more than baby dolls. As with most money saving projects though, the trade off is time. This furniture most definitely takes a fair amount of time from start to finish, including a trip to the hardware store and/or fabric store, depending on what you may have on hand. But for only $11.99 for the full pattern, it really can be a money saver compared to buying doll furniture.
It really is so cute! My 7 year old keeps this bed in her room and loves tucking in her stuffed animals every night. She even loves making the bed each morning. If you want to check out more cute doll stuff hop on over to Doll Stuff by Jana HERE. Have a great day!!
Thanks for the review! We love it when crafters take our pattern and create something entirely their own. Glad you liked it.
